Great for drums, bass and vocals as well as just adding a nice mid-foward warm analogue tone to anything that's fed through it. Perfect clones of the original Urei blue stripe revision. Hi all, I have a single of Stam Audio SA76 up for rental. If you plan on using your teletronix la 2a or urei la 3a for a period of years, you need a working t4b and at …

Know that the shipping costs to your country will be significantly higher depending upon where in the world you live. From what i read, Proreplicas is known to build one of the bests Rev A on the market, and Robert (Proreplicas) is very helpfull, he answered hundreds of questions i ask to build my 1176 the way i wanted and he kept in touch in all the process.Urei bl Harmon will never manufacture the t4b again. I think most people love Rev A because it adds much more color, character, body to the sound, that is great in a lot of sources. My idea is to track with Rev H and then limit the vocal take later with rev H or Rev A at 8:1 ratio -2db Rev A sounds great, but for cleaner, softer, delicated pop / folk, vocals, for tracking, i think that Rev G/H is more versatile because is the most transparent/cleaner sound of all the 1176 revisions (less harmonic distortion, and less low mids boost / "body" ussually called by people) So with the rev G/H i can add later harmonic distortion or low mids with my rev A or plugins (used gently at -2db max) but on the contrary i cannot take away harmonic distortion in a compressed track with a Rev A.įor pop-rock vocals Rev A its the one, it really shines! With the Rev A i can hear a little harmonic sparkle in the high mids and highs that are not present with the Rev H. It comes with a decent shock mount and a long cable, which is nice. With the power supply and mic it’s a heavy case. I finished paying for it in October and today it appeared. I still haven’t gotten the Stam 76 yet!Ġ:58:14 GMT -6 donr said:Today the STAM Audio 47 that I ordered under the SA76 ADx delay program discount arrived at last. With the STAM discount, the SA-47 was a bargain. I’m wondering if the 414 needs refurbing. I’m happy I have two really nice tube mics now. The Chandler was set to normal, about ⅔ max output. I’m happy with it, I think it sounds great. I must say, stepping up to the 47 and singing into it, I felt kinda special.

All were recorded through a Metric Halo ULN-8, the Chandler Line In, the other two with MH’s mic pres, which are pretty clean. There’s three different performances, and the balances are by ear (set with the track louder, then dimming the track level,), so just listen to the sound of the mics, not the levels. All mics are dry with no processing of any kind. I claim no prowess or facility with this style of music, but it was a 47, so I thought it appropriate. I got a Karaoke track of “Fly Me To The Moon” and sung two verses, first on an AKG 414EB from the ’70’s, then the STAM 47, then the Chandler REDD. I thought I’d do a mic comparison because I never have.
